PARKER PINCHES POINTS
Sunday 14th September 2008
by Ron Norris
After reaching the semi finals of the Youth Association Cup
last year, Steve Brown's under 18's got this years
campaign off to a winning start on Saturday with a 2-1 victory
over Millwall as they look to better that achievement in
2008/09.
Following their first defeat of the season last week in a league
match at Brentford, Brown made changes to the side for this one.
Nikki Bulmer continued in goal but Elliot Cox replaced Michael
Harriman at right back with the rest of the back four,
Michael Wright, Daniel Bailey and Aaron Waters remaining unchanged.
Terry Smith, Danny Davenport and Max Ehmer started their fourth straight
game as the midfield trio whilst upfront trialist Anton Wilson came in
for Christian Nanetti to partner Josh Parker and Antonio German.

It was Davenport who scored Rangers' first goal of the game from the
penalty spot but with the scores tied at one all it looked likely that
we were heading for a share of points until Parker pounced in the dying
moments to secure a valuable 2-1 victory.
The group games come thick and fast now with three straight cup fixtures
following this one. Matches against Wycombe and Southend are around the
corner but next weekend it's Rushden and Diamonds who visit Harlington.
