POINTS SHARED WITH LUTON
Tuesday 4th September 2007
by Ron Norris
Loftus Road wasn’t the only place Ray Jones
was remembered on Saturday, the youth team in which he made his
name also paid their own tribute with a minutes silence before
their fixture against Luton.
After starting the season with a win at
Peterborough, Rangers stuck to the same successful 4-3-3 formation for
the first home match of the new campaign.
Chris Goodchild was in goal behind a back four of
Billy Coyne, Ed Harris, Josh Ford and Lee Brown. Matt O’Brien, Danny
Maguire and Cyrus Vanterpool were the midfield three with Antonio
German, Romone Rose and James Folkes the front trio.
The visitors took the lead after just ten minutes
and held it going into the second despite constant pressure from The
R’s. However the home sides determination paid off after the hour mark
when German headed home to level the scores and earn Rangers a share of
the points.
Our next fixture is this Saturday as the under 18’s
make the short trip up the M40 to face Wycombe Wanderers in our last
league fixture for a while before the new Youth Alliance format switches
to a couple of months of cup action.
QPR: Goodchild, Coyne, Harris, Ford, Brown,
O’Brien, Maguire, Vanterpool (Arthur), German, Rose, Folkes (Gardner).
Subs not used: Crowther, Jordan, Balanta.
