CHAMPIONS SIGN OFF WITH A WIN
Monday 28th April 2008
by Ron Norris
Rangers under 18's finished their
victorious Puma Youth Alliance campaign with a 1-0 home win over
Brighton and Hove Albion at Harlington on Saturday.
After securing the title last week Steve Brown took
the opportunity to rest some of his regulars and give a chance to some
talent from the under 16's as well as allow the departing second year
scholars one last game before they move on.
Chris Goodchild, Lee Brown, James Folkes, Billy
Coyne and Aaron Morgan-Cummings will all leave the club this summer
however they all took their places in the starting eleven for their
Rangers swansong.
Goodchild was in goal with a back four of Michael
Wright, Brown, Femi
Kesanmi and sixteen year old Danny Bailey
who was making his debut at this level. Coyne, Matt O'Brien and Terry
Smith made up the midfield whilst Morgan-Cummings and Folkes teamed up
with Danny Fernandez up front.

It was Fernandez who scored the only goal of the game on 17 minutes,
heading home from Folkes cross to give Rangers an early lead and
ultimately, another three points.
Rangers finish the season top of the South East
Conference with 42 points from 19 games, there are still some games to
come before the league runners up are confirmed with Gillingham and
Leyton Orient battling it out for second next weekend.
Congratulations to the lads on another fine season,
we'd also like to wish the five released players all the best with their
future careers.
QPR: Goodchild, Wright, Bailey, Brown,
Kesanmi, Folkes (German), O'Brien, Smith
(Perring), Coyne, Fernandez (Molloy), Morgan-Cummings. Subs not used:
Harris, Ehmer.
