ARTHUR
DOUBLE PUTS R'S ON TOP
Whilst the first team were failing
at Hull on Saturday the under 18's were once again victorious at
Harlington. After last weeks destruction of Northampton the
young R's went top of the league with a 2-0 win over Brentford.
Joe Gallen made
just one change to the side that scored six against The Cobblers
last weekend as Reece Crowther replaced the injured Chris
Goodchild between the sticks. Aaron Goode, Josh Ford, Andrew
Howell and Lee Brown made up the back four, Romone Rose, Billy
Coyne, Matt O'Brien and Chris Arthur continued in midfield
whilst James Folkes was once again paired with Danny Murphy in
attack.
Rangers scored
at the start and end of the game to secure the victory with both
goals coming from Chris Arthur.
The R's hit the
front after just ten minutes when Arthur volleyed home Rose's
cross and the second came about ten minutes from time after a
good team move ten minutes from time. Substitute Dean Parrett
found Arthur on the left and the winger beat his man and squared
for Maguire who played the one two leaving Arthur with the
simple task of tapping home to score his fourth of the season
from just six starts.
As well as Parrett, Keiron St. Aimie also came off the bench as
he continues to comeback from his injury hell and put in another
another solid forty five minutes in the second half.
The win leaves Rangers three points clear of Colchester at
the top of the South East Conference, however Colchester now
have a game in hand as their fixture was postponed. Next week
Joe Gallen's boys look to extend their unbeaten run in the
league to ten games when they travel to face Brighton and Hove
Albion. We'll have news from that game on here next Monday
evening.
