KIDS KICK OFF CUP CAMPAIGN
The under 18's got off to a
great start in the Youth Association Cup this weekend, seeing
off Yeovil Town 3-0 as we look to better last seasons run to the
semi final of this competition.
Joe Gallen welcomed a couple
of familiar faces back to the squad for the game, keeper Sean
Thomas, who has spent some time away from Rangers on a work
experience loan, returned to claim his first clean sheet of the
campaign whilst midfielder Matthew O'Connell made his first
appearance of the season, coming off the bench to replace
Bradley Bubb.
The goals came from defender
Andrew Howell, Jonathan Munday got his second of the season and
Giant Ray Jones rounded things off with his third of the season.
This year the format of the YA Cup has been
re-jigged to include a group stage, as seems to be trendy these
days! Rangers are in a group of six with Saturday's opponents
Yeovil as well as Bristol Rovers, Brentford, Leyton Orient and
Portsmouth. There are three other groups in the Southern section
and each group winner will progress to the semi final stage. The
winner of the overall Southern Final will then play the winners
of the Northern section in the final final. Still with me?
QPR:

Our next youth team game is
the second of our five YA Cup group games, away to Bristol
