Rangers' under 18's side kicked off the new season with a three all draw at Rushden and Diamonds on Saturday morning.

Goals from Luke Townsend, Ricky Sappleton and Romone Rose earned Joe Gallen's side their first point of the season.

Rangers fielded seven players in the starting eleven from the under 17's and 16's groups with only Townsend, Karl Yelland, Jon Munday and Stefan Bailey having any real experience at this level.

Team: Sandercome, Yelland, Howell, Smart, Munday, Hussey (Sethi), Bernard (Rose), Bailey, Lamidi (Jones), Sappleton, Townsend. Subs not used: Twagira, Howell.

Our next youth team game is on Saturday 3rd September when the under 18's travel to Cambridge.
