UNDER 18'S END CUP CAMPAIGN WITH
A DEFEAT
Rangers under 18's finished
off their Youth Association Cup Group Stage fixtures with
another loss, a 3-1 reverse against Portsmouth at Harlington.
With progression to the knock out stages already
impossible Joe Gallen was able to use the game to give some less
familiar faces a run out and made two changes to the side that
lost at Leyton Orient last week. Glen Harvey replaced Jonathan
Munday in the back four for his first start of the season whilst
Tamba Ngongou, who came off the
bench last week, started this one at the expense of Shabazz
Baidoo. Shabba was on stand by with the first team squad.
Winger Bruno
Luz came off the subs bench to replace Harvey and managed to get
the only goal of the game for Rangers, whilst there was also an
appearance for trialist striker Leon Osei, who replaced Giant
Ray Jones. This was Rangers third defeat out of five in this
competition and we finished up in fifth place in the six team
table.
Meanwhile Leyton Orient
continued their good form in this competition to wrap up the
group title with a win over Bristol Rovers. They go through to
the knock out stages with a game to spare.
Rangers will be looking to
bounce back in the league when they take on Luton Town at
Harlington on Saturday 19th November, kick off is at 10:45.
