UNDER 18's
START THE YEAR WITH A WIN
After a couple of weeks off
the under 18's returned to action on Saturday with a good win
over Colchester at Harlington.
After Joe Gallen released a
handful of youth team players before Christmas it was all change
for the under 18's with many lads stepping up from the under
16's and two trialists featuring in either full back berth.
Andrew Howell and Karl Yelland, both usually wide players,
featured in the centre back spots whilst the midfield was made
up of Harry Smart, Matt O'Brien,
Tamba Ngongou and Adam Bernard.
Up front Ricky Sappleton was
partnered by Danny Maguire, who made his first start of the
season at this level having already made two substitute
appearances this season. It was Maguire who scored the only one
of the game, but it proved to be a worthy winner for the young
R's.
The win puts Rangers in third
place in South East Conference after eleven games. We are just a
point behind second placed Rushden but will struggle to catch
runaway leaders Brighton who are ten points ahead of us now.
They enjoyed an emphatic 9-0 win over Brentford this weekend as
they continue to stamp their authority on the division.
In other youth team news, the
South East Conference is now a twelve team league following the
resignation of Cambridge United from the division, all their
results have been expunged.
QPR:

The under
18's are back in action on Saturday, they travel to face bottom
side Portsmouth at the Wellington Sports Ground in Southampton
