MAGUIRE
MAKES HIS MARK
Danny Maguire scored twice as
Rangers under 18's got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory
at Colchester United on Saturday morning.
Stephen Gallen took charge of the
under 18's for this match and sent out a team with a mixture of
regulars, under 16's and trialists. The games itself was played
in freezing cold conditions with a touch of sleet chucked in for
fun.
Colchester will be disappointed to
have gone in at half time with the score at nil nil as they
created some good chances but were found wanting in front of
goal. However it was Rangers that finally broke the deadlock
when Maguire pounced on a goalkeeping error to put the R's one
up shortly after the break.
Rangers' second goal came from a
set piece when Karl Yelland's free kick was headed back across
goal to set up Maguire for a simple brace. Lee Brown sealed the
points with fifteen minutes to go after a great run down the
left flank was followed with a finish to match, to wrap up a
fine solo effort from the substitute.
Our next under 18's match is this
Saturday when Gallen's boys will face Rushden and Diamonds at
Harlington, kick off for that one is 10:45am. |
