DEFEAT AGAINST
WATFORD HURTS
Tuesday 28th November 2007
by Ron Norris
The reserves were beaten by two
late Watford goals tonight in a ding dong derby encounter. The
game finished 4-3 with both sides exchanging the lead throughout
the ninety.
The R's continued to give youth their
chance at this level with nine of the starting eleven being plucked from
the regular under 18's side.
Chris Goodchild was in goal with Lee
Brown, Pat Kanyuka, Josh Ford and Andrew Howell lining up in front of
him. Billy Coyne, Matt O'Brien and Chris Arthur made up the midfield
with the youth teams triple attack of Angelo Balanta, Romone Rose and
Antonio German deployed up front.
Rangers took the lead through Rose after
thirteen minutes but Watford hit back a minute later with Anthony
McNamee levelling things up.
The Hornets then took the lead from the
spot before Balanta's first two goals at this level gave the home side a
3-2 advantage. However Moses Ashikodi and Douglas Rinaldi each scored in
the last five minutes to take all three points back to Hertfordshire.
Next week the reserves are on their
travels as they face Gary Waddock's Aldershot Town on Tuesday afternoon.
