GERMAN DOUBLE CAN'T SAVE R'S
Tuesday 22nd January 2008
by Ron Norris
An Antonio
German double and Aaron Goode's first QPR reserve goal couldn't
save Rangers' second string as they were beaten 4-3 by Leyton
Orient at Loftus Road on Tuesday night.
Both teams sent out a
line up more akin to the Puma Youth Alliance league, however there was
to be no repeat of our 4-0 romp over Orient in that competition tonight.
Fresh off the first
team bench, Reece Crowther started in goal behind a back four of Billy
Coyne, Goode, Andrew Howell and Lee Brown. Chris Arthur, Matt O'Brien
and Danny Davenport made up the midfield with Angelo Balanta, German and
Aaron Morgan-Cummings providing the attacking threat.
Orient took the lead on
two occasions, with Rangers fighting back each time. First German
equalised Solomon Shields' 17th minute opener then found themselves at
2-2 when German hit his second barely two minutes after Loick Pires had
restored the visitors advantage.
Rangers were in front
for the first time on the night just after the hour mark when Goode
headed home The R's third. However Orient struck back twice more to
steal all three points through Raphael Sylvester and Jeff Goulding.
QPR: Crowther, Coyne (Harris), Howell, Goode, Brown,
Arthur, O'Brien, Davenport, Morgan-Cummings, Balanta, German. Subs not used:
Goodchild, Parker, Ford, Smith. |
