BEATEN IN BRIGHTON
Tuesday 21st August 2007
by Ron Norris
The reserves
new season begun with a defeat, going down 2-1 away to Brighton
and Hove Albion on Tuesday evening.
The management duo of Mick Harford
and Warren Neill named a strong
looking line up for the first match
of the season.
Jake Cole was in goal behind a back
four of Marcus Bignot, Danny Cullip,
Dominic Shimmin and Chris Barker.
Shabazz Baidoo, Danny Maguire,
Stefan Bailey and Keiron St Aimie
made up the midfield four while Marc
Nygaard partnered Romone Rose up
top.
Despite creating plenty of chances
it was Baidoo who nabbed Rangers
only goal of the game just before
half time, equalising Nathan Elders
opener.
Brighton's winner came in
controversial circumstances after
Albion opted to play on rather than
put the ball out of play for an
injured Rose to receive treatment
leaving Joe Gatting free to beat
Cole halfway through the second
forty five.
The reserves next fixture is the
first home match of the season when
we host Millwall at Loftus Road on
the 11th September. |
