Rangers’ reserve side put last weeks
mauling at the hands of Brighton
behind them as they ran out 1-0
winners against Wycombe Wanderers in
a game played at the Harlington
training ground. Rangers sent out
a very young side with Royce and
Timoska the only exceptions to that
rule. As was the case for the U18’s
game at the weekend, the bone hard
ground and a pretty stiff wind made
conditions tricky for the players.
Perhaps the fact that a lot of that
side were playing in this game
handed Rangers a slight advantage.
Rangers had a goal chalked off when
Kieron St Aimie shot against the
post and Stefan Moore tucked home
the rebound. Moore opened the
scoring soon after though when he
lobbed the keeper from twenty five
yards. Late in the half Wycombe were
denied an equaliser by Joey
Woodwork.
The second half passed by with
little in the way of action it would
seem. Rangers have just four more
games in this waste of space of a
league. Perhaps the organisers would
do well over the summer to sit down
and think of a way of making this a
competition where there are regular
games rather than the joke it
currently is.
