Rangers’ reserves won their third
game running this season with a 2-1
victory at Crawley Town, this was
our first game for nearly a month
thanks to the ridiculous combination
structure we have these days.
It was a young reserves side that
travelled to face Crawley Town on
Tuesday night, in fact five of the
starting eleven all played during
the youth teams 1-0 defeat at
Bristol Rovers this weekend. We
lined up with Jake Cole in goal, Ugo
Ukah at right back, Ryan Johnson and
Ian Evatt were at centre half with
Dominic Shimmin playing left back.
The midfield four included two
players who you would normally see
at centre back and left back in
Jonathan Munday and Andrew Howell,
They were alongside Scott Donnelly
and Stefan Bailey. Upfront Giant Ray
Jones partnered Shabazz Baidoo.
It's been a busy few days for
Baidoo, he made his first appearance
this season at under 18 level on
Saturday, came on against Crystal
Palace for the first team on Monday
night and on Tuesday started this
reserves match. Shabba got the ball
rolling in this one within the first
ten minutes to give Rangers the
lead, that was his third goal this
season at this level.
Crawley levelled things up through
Stuart Douglas ten minutes before
the break before youth team regular
Jonathan Munday struck in the dying
minutes to give Rangers all three
points. |
