Rangers’ youngsters stepped up to
reserve level once again this
afternoon and ran out convincing
winners over Stevenage Borough. Gary
Waddock took charge of the side
again and saw his team go on to win
3-0.
Waddock lined his team up with Jake
Cole in goal behind a back four of
Ryan Johnson, Patrick Kanyuka,
Jonathan Munday and Daniel Murphy.
Wes Thomas, John Fletcher, Scott
Mulholland and Sonny Farr made up
the midfield with Luke Townsend
partnering Michael Charles upfront.
Charles is on trial from Farnborough
where he has racked up the goals for
their youth team, scoring a recent
hatrick during ‘borough’s last game
of the season. He has also made
twelve substitute appearances for
their first team and scored three
goals in the Conference.
He got on the score sheet today as
well, bagging the third of Rangers
three goals, defender Pat Kanyuka,
fresh off his first team debut,
scored the first with Sonny Farr
netting Rangers other goal.
The victory is Rangers second in a
row and moves us up to sixth in the
Combination League Central & East.
At the top, Luton have the league
title wrapped up after only losing
one game all season.
Next up for Rangers is the final
reserve fixture of the season, a
trip to Peterborough United. This
match was postponed from last week
but is now expected to be played
week commencing 2nd May.
