Rangers' reserves played their third away game in the space of ten days at Palace this afternoon. Unfortunately, they crashed to their third defeat and the second one by a 3-0 score line.

With a strong looking line up Timmy Breacker would have been hoping for better this time out but things went to pot as early as the twelfth minute. Crystal Palace took the lead through an as yet unnamed mystery player.

They added another two goals after the break to give the score line a supposedly flattering look. It is not inconceivable that Rangers had a few shots at goal themselves but who could say.

Hayes keeper Bertrand Bossu made another appearance and has now shipped five in two games. Hopefully this will not have harmed his chances, as the reserve team is a notoriously bad barometer of trialist's ability.

The only sour note was reoccurrence of Ben Walshe's knee injury and with the ankle injury Williams sustained against Cheltenham and Cook's return to Watford the left side is looking pretty thin.
