Chris'
Day and Plummer completed another
ninety minutes of reserve team
football this afternoon at Oxford
but couldn't stop Rangers going down
to a Luke Steele goal.
The
weather greatly affected the quality
of the game as Rangers struggled to
cope with the blustery conditions.
Oxford forced two fine saves from
Day before Steele hammered home a
loose ball on 59 minutes. He
proceeded to celebrate "Bebeto
style" (baby cradling) having
recently become a father to Max (Max
Steele?!).
Karl
Connolly made his first tentative
steps back to full fitness,
replacing Andy Thomson in the second
half. Rangers fielded two trialists
in striker Craig McAllister, who
played his second game this week and
left back Brett Poate, formerly of
Southampton.
Rangers are expected to decide
whether to move for McAllister over
the next few days whilst Poate may
well get another chance in the
reserves next week. Let's hope he's
better than the last former
Southampton left back we picked up. |
