Andy
Thomson showed exactly what why we
miss him so much by netting a brace
in tonight's reserve team match to
earn the R's a two all draw away at
Norwich City.
Much
like the first team this season
Rangers had to fight back into the
game from a goal down when Neil
Emblen put the home side ahead
inside the first five minutes,
however it was a lead that was not
to last long, Andy Thomson hit the
first of his and Rangers two goals
only six minutes later with a fine
shot from outside the area. It was
Thommo again that put Rangers back
into the lead, before Ian Henderson
levelled for the visitors with ten
minutes of the first half to go.
The
score remained at two all and must
be considered a good result for our
second string. Despite fielding a
side that included experienced
players like Thommo, Connolly and
Digby, Rangers also played some
players out of their natural
positions with left back Gino Padula
slotting in alongside Marien Ifura
at centre back and Dennis Oli
playing right wing. Norwich are
unbeaten in the Combination League
this season so the performance
tonight is perhaps even more
impressive.
More
important than all that though is
the return to fitness and form of
Andy Thomson, who, given the recent
popgun nature of our attack, must
surely be inline for a start this
weekend at Mansfield. |
