Rangers' reserves woeful away record
continues after they went down 2-1
at Cardiff City this afternoon in
what was, by all accounts, an
entertaining match.
Rangers fielded an extremely
experienced side Terrell Forbes,
Lyndon Duncan, Chris Plummer and
Matthew Rose made up the defence
whilst Wes Daly, Marcus Bean, Dennis
Oli and Ben Walshe were the midfield
four. Richard Pacquette and Brett "2nd
team goal machine" Angell were
upfront whilst in goal was trialist
keeper Nick Gindre from Walton and
Hersham.
Rangers went behind after twenty
minutes, former Stockport and
Middlesbrough striker Andy Campbell
lobbed Gindre from just outside the
area to put the home side in front,
a scoreline they would hold onto for
the remainder of the half.
Rangers started the second half the
brighter though and shortly after
the break Brett Angell drove home
Wes Daly's cross to net his fourth
reserves goal in six appearances.
However Cardiff would strike a
winner against the run of play,
Gindre failed to clear a cross which
eventually fell to Campbell who made
no mistake to win the game for City.
The
result leaves Tim Breakers reserves
still looking for their first win
away from Chestnut Avenue and with
only one away match left you have to
wonder whether the jinx will be
broken this season. |
