FAREWELL BIG DAN

Queens Park Rangers today accepted an offer from Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion for Danny Shittu.

Good luck

According to the QPR official site the deal is worth up to three million pounds, the magic figure Gianni Paladini has been holding out for. The West Brom site breaks down the deal a little more though indicating it is a fee of 1.5 million upfront with the rest paid if "certain criteria are met", what they are remains to be seen.

Danny will have his medical and agree personal terms tomorrow, after which he will officially be unveiled as a Baggie's player, bringing to an end his four and half year stay in West London.

With Ian Evatt also departing today on a six month loan move to Blackpool it suddenly leaves us looking a bit short at the back. Waddo's centre back options now consist of the unproven Damion Stewart, the ever brittle Matty Rose, youngster Pat Kanyuka and Dominic Shimmin, who is suspended for the first three games of the season. A new signing must surely be immanent.

But that's all for another time, today's news brings to and end the career of one of the most popular players to grace Loftus Road in many years. We all knew this was coming but it doesn't make it any easier to swallow.

Good luck Dan, and thanks.
