What is the surname of QPR's manager? (all lower case)

Rangers Newsround

Andy returns with another Rangers Newsround, this week Clint Hill takes centre stage, there’s news on a possible replacement and we’ve Andy’s tweets of the week.

The big talking point this week (well apart from the Barton shenanigans, although I'm sure we've all heard enough on that subject) was the departure, temporarily mind, of Clint Hill. The tough tackling defender has joined Steve McClaren's Nottingham Forest on a 93 day loan.

I must admit that I am a bit surprised by Hill's departure but more so by the length of the loan.

Hill started the first game of the season then subsequently sat out the next three serving a suspension. Since his arrival Armand Traore has grabbed the left back spot with both hands with a couple of impressive performances. So when I heard that Forest wanted Hill on loan I initially thought that a month away from the club, getting some much needed game time under his belt would be beneficial. I expected him to come back and challenge for the left back spot or at the very least take his place on the bench. But not to be, the three month loan would seem to indicate that Hill isn’t considered for first team plans at all, well for the next few months anyway. If anything were to happen to Traore I personally would prefer that he is replaced by a natural left sided defender like Hill rather than playing a central defender out of position. So far the versatile Connolly has pipped Hill for a place in match day squads.

On Twitter, Hill claimed that he was “gutted” to be leaving the club (full Tweet below) which is quite a big statement for someone just leaving on loan. So it made me wonder whether the loan is with a view to a permanent move and could this be the end of Hill’s QPR career? I personally hoped not and Hill quickly put my mind at ease with another informative tweet saying “no permanent deal had been talked about.” Phew.

Good luck to Clint at his new club though and let’s hope it’s not goodbye!

Could it be one in, one out though as reports are linking us again with Nadir Belhadj and the former Portsmouth full back is apparently looking to return to England. If Traore is to be our only recognised left back then of course another body is important and Belhadj is in the similar mould to Traore; a mould that Warnock seems to like.

In other transfer news, a report by London24 claims that we are ready to sell Hogan Ephraim. A source close to the club is quoted as saying “I would say that Hogan probably doesn’t feature in the club’s long-term plans, and if the right offer comes along he’ll be available.” Since Hogan was left out of the Warnock’s 25 man squad I think it’s fairly obvious that he would be allowed to leave on loan, presumably with the view to letting him go permanently in January. This would be the same for the likes of Rowlands, Cook, Shittu, Ramage, Agyemang and others left out of the squad.

The same source for London24 paid glowing references to young Troy Hewitt. “He’s a powerful boy, he’s been down in the gym most days; he’s got a great physique, he’s quick, and in all the friendly games we’ve played he’s looked a cut above the rest.

“We chucked him in training with the first team squad and he coped no problem. Experienced guys like Shaun Derry know a footballer when they see one, and they like him.”

Let’s hope that Troy can continue to develop and we’ve got a serious talent on our hands. I do still feel that for the wealth of attacking talent we have at the club, we still lack a natural goal scorer, could Troy be the answer?
