QPR Match Prediction Competition 2016/17 – Match 38 Results

Postby northwesthoop » Sun Mar 19, 2017 12:27 am

After a low scoring round last week it was anything but today, mainly because when Smith scores we get high scores!

Only singlespeed didn't predict a win - a costly edit as we will find out! Nobody went for 5-1 though but SydneyR was literally seconds away from the score line prediction of the season having gone for 4-1.

Getting Smith as first scorer is therefore what has made the major difference. Varc, kingfisher, e17hoop, ashqpr, jimjams, QPRBex, surrey chad, MCM Hoop, SydneyR, ranger-boy and Rosco Bosco all grabbed the 6 points on offer there.

pamment8, LurkR, kingfisher, QpRsmith and e17hoop went for the very early first goal time.

Only pamment8 thought Leeds would beat Brighton for a single bonus point.

We have a new leader as a result and a change in the top 3 players....e17hoop has cut down a 13 point deficit to now lead by 3 in just 5 matches. I drop to 2nd and Ghost drops out of the top 3 for the first time since match 17, replaced by MCM Hoop who I did mention a few times has been keeping up in 4th for a while now. It is certainly the wrong time for myself and Ghost to lose form with only 8 matches to go.

At the bottom singlespeed has also had a costly dip in form - so costly he now occupies 19th place falling behind Varc and ashqpr who actually also leapfrog qprallan and CutePR who will be having a restless international break! singlespeed was up in 8th just 8 matches ago but the form of those who were at the bottom has been superb and he has been swallowed up!

surrey chad had dropped to 10th 2 weeks ago but is now up again from 7th to 5th, ahead of fellow form player QPRBex only on a higher individual match score. We have a group though from 5th to 12th split by just 8 points - QpRsmith scored a decent 6 and still dropped 2 places and Rosco Bosco scored 9 but somehow stays in 9th place which indicates how fierce that battle is!

12 points for kingfisher ease any wooden spoon fears whilst jimjams and ranger-boy will be happy with their 9 point hauls to have at least a bit of breathing space over those below.

However, I'd go as far as to say that anybody in the top half or so could still win or at least get a medal and anybody in the bottom half could easily end up in the final wooden spoon slot.

A shame we have nearly 2 weeks now before the next match! Don't forget to enter as the match is a on Friday!

I have put up the next 5 matches covering the next month as my wife is due our first baby by the time of our next match! These don't need to be kept 'sticky' at the top of the forum until nearer the match times if the moderators are reading this - I just wanted to get them all up before I struggle to get online!

I will endeavour to find the time to put up the results for each match before the next match each round but I apologise in advance if they are not as prompt as they have been throughout the season - or very late!

I'll do my best as we enter the best part of the season!

I'll try and keep it so the next 2 matches are sticky at the top of the forum. Good luck with the baby!

And it's also nice to know that my new approach to predictions is working. It's stats based and is also paying out in small bets too - £37 to £2 this week. :-)

Wise words! Wish you all the very best mate!!

Glad to have risen beyond the wooden sppon but feel my 10th is still going to mirror QPR's final position. We have a few of the top teams to play against but yesterday's Brighton defeat shows we can continue upsetting the apple carts! :yay
