Preston NE v Queens Park Rangers 2 - 1 FT

This will be a hard, physical game if the game at Loftus Road is anything to go by, and it would be good to have the preferred starting eleven available. Sadly it seems that Grant Hall will not be available, and perhaps Conor Washington too. We also still have long-term sickies Caulker & Cousins, whilst Robinson appears to be working himself back. So, assuming Grant Hall is out, does that mean Perch gets the nod (I suspect so); and Sylla or Mackie to replace Washington up front with Smith? I would go for 4-5-1 and utilise Lualua as an additional player in midfield and play Luongo instead of Hall in an effort to keep the ball down as PNE seem to love 'ping-pong' football:

Smithies
Furlong Onuoha Lynch Bidwell
Manning Luongo Freeman
Wzsolek Lualua
Smith

This could be a game for Goss? Apparently he has the ability to play a defensive holding midfielder, might be a the player we need?

Anyone going tomorrow?
My lad and I are travelling down - we'll probably park in St Gregory's Catholic Club, & have a few and a bite to eat in the Catholic Club and/or Sumners Pub if anyone fancies meeting up.

Tough match, Preston don't lose many but haven't quite had the edge to launch a promotion push.

I fancy them to end our strong week. We rarely win 3 in a row.

Plus we rarely win when Perch plays and I guess he will be stepping in for Hall like Kingfisher. Would love some win percentages with and without Perch.

Well I had Luongo in there ahead of Perch, but otherwise got it spot on! I am hoping that Perch adds extra height at the back whilst defending (like Hall does) but that he moves the ball forward quickly when possible.

What is more interesting is the subs - it is packed with attacking options! Perhaps as we would expect, Ollie has not come to defend!

My feeling is that the attacking midfield will line up as Wzsolek Freeman Lualua, with Smith alone up front to head back to them. I expect Lualua particularly to get to the far post for Wzsolek's crosses and Freeman to pick up anything loose on on the edge of the goal area.

Good start by the squad, with only one real scare in defence....

36 mins: ⚽️ GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL! QPR take the lead as Darnell Furlong's long through into the box falls at the feet of Kazenga LuaLua who backheels it in from six-yards. [0-1]
