Birmingham v QPR 1 - 4 FT

Postby kingfisher » Fri Feb 17, 2017 6:48 pm

We have not got a good record against Brum, with more losses and draws than wins, so perhaps that should be reflected in NWHoop's prediction comp.... Anyway, the game's blog is created and its your chance to add your thoughts, before/ during/ after the game; and here is my attempt at second guessing the unpredictable Ollie's starting eleven:

Smithies
Furlong Onuoha Lynch Bidwell
Manning Goss
Wzsolek Freeman
Sylla Smith

Thoughts?

They are on a dreadful run but played decent against Sheffield Wednesday. Their main defender and Captain Morrison is out injured so maybe Smith could play a big role.

I just can't see us winning at the moment, hope to be surprised.

Hope to see Furlong back in the team and Goss given a game from the start.

Smithies
Onuoha Lynch
Furlong Bidwell
Goss
Wzsolek Freeman
Morrison
Sylla Mackie

I think we need to be more attacking and really go for them form the start they are very nervous and will wont like the early pressure.

Interesting that you have dropped Matt Smith and Manning and that is certainly an attack-minded side! Leaves us a bit exposed if players do not get back to support the Back 4 but perhaps Ollie will do this....

Not an easy game for both teams.
So anything we get will be a bonus.
Having said that a loss adds more pressure. :tu

Zola is clueless and they have 2 main players out
They have a bit of pace upfront and looked ok against sheff wed the other week
But they let in goals and we need to get a least two today I reckon
It's about time we give someone a hiding

Jutkiewicz missing altogether for Birmingham

We have the usual few changes with Perch, Luongo and Mackie dropping out.

Possible shape?

Smithies
Furlong Onouha Lynch Bidwell
Hall Manning
Wzsolek Freeman
Smith Washington

Goss and Morrison not even on the bench. Goss barely given a sniff yet and we have a starting 11 with 1 actual central midfielder today. Strange.

I was surprised too that Goss was not even on the bench. Same could be said for Morrison, although he may still not be fit enough for the Championship. Would also add that, given the numbers of midfielders we have, I am still surprised that Perch or Hall are first choice in a DCM role....

Anyway, fingers crossed... :tu

Freeman's corner results in a bullet header from SMITH!!!!! [0-1]

Judging by the commentary this is no more than the Rs deserve. More of the same please! :yay :yay :yay

Plenty of chances at both ends, unlikely to end with the single goal.

Once ahead we need to win though so hoping for a strong second 45.

Told you there would be more goals...2-0!

Washington starting to find some form and consistency.

Must see this out now for 3 points.
