BIZARRE SUBSTITUTIONS

Postby pamment8 » Sun Feb 05, 2017 4:44 am

We have had them in the last few games now.
Neither could impact on the game.
Or maybe I'm the only one who thinks that way.

Is it Holloways poor decision making
Or have we no game changing players
All we had to do was score one bloody goal and we'd of least got a draw
I hope once the new signings settle in we have more cutting edge

We did score a goal though so in this instance I think it is a little harsh to criticise.

They only scored on 90+1 so didn't give as much time to respond.

Holloway maybe though an away draw and clean sheet was OK up to that point so didn't change it much. Whether we think an away point and clean sheet is good enough is what we can debate.

We played a team in the bottom 3 lacking confidence
An early goal would of hurt them and the home crowd would of been on their backs
We've only got one point from last 3 games,a fantastic point at Newcastle who scored so early in the game
Why couldn't we show that fight and spirit at Blackburn and against burton
Is it a phobia against teams starting with the letter B
Holloway got it wrong yesterday, should of bought on lua lua sooner
He's a quick player against a tired poor Blackburn side who were drawing 0-0
We shouldn't bemoan a disallowed goal, and we could of got a draw
This was an opportunity to get well clear of relegation zone,we are now only 6 points clear
We're quite good on our day but we're also crap against poor teams
Can't see us beating Huddersfield a very good outfit with Nakhi wells on fire
Holloway shouldn't of thought a draw would do when we've got a very difficult game against a team that just hammered Brighton,we won't win that game on current form

Current form would suggest we in fact will get something as we are getting results against the top teams.

We absolutely should be moaning about this goal as it wasnt a disallowed goal but a goal not seen by the officials. In the prem we would of been 1-0 up. Taking the lead could of made a massive difference so as NW said, and i agree it is a little harsh to criticise to much.

Frustrating that we dont seem to be able to take control of games and dictate the tempo.

I saw the Huddersfield game yesterday. If we are not careful they could really destroy us. I thought they were fantastic. They have some very good players, that Mooy guy is brilliant.

When Huddersfield beat us we could be only 3 points clear of relegation zone if other results don't go our way
The Blackburn game was such an important game as we would of been out of danger we are back in it now
yes other teams above us are not far off us, but we need to pull our socks up or we could be in trouble again

Win draw or lose we still need to push on and make sure at the end of the season we are not in the relegation zone. Nothing is decided this weekend.

Very dangerous to keep thinking 'nothing is decided this weekend'. It clearly isn't going be decided this weekend, but we need to start playing like it will be decided this weekend!!! We are fast running out of weekends too!!! :tu

I was trying to point out it wont be all over this weekend so we shouldnt be thinking we are clear or we are down because of this result.

As i said we need to push on regardless but this wont be the game to decide our future.

That 'goal' got me thinking, do clubs in the Championship still use the goal line technology if they had it in place in the Premier League?

(So the likes of us, Newcastle, Villa and Norwich)

No its get removed, it means that we no longer need to pay for it. The brackets are still in place but the cameras and technology is gone.

As surrey says we can't use it unless everybody in the league has it. Stupid really.

There was even a fuss about it being used in play off finals at Wembley because it hasn't been used all season in the football league.

More than idiotic methinks where it concerns a club seeking automatic promotion has a missed goal because there is no goal-line technology ends up losing its share of PL payments! Or perhaps you end up being relegated to League 1 on a end of the season match... Too much money at stake to rely on an unfit or misplaced match official... :mad

Anyway, back to what this thread was meant to be about - bizarre substitions: I stated on Saturday that I could not understand why Ollie had made a substitution in the dying minutes when we were losing (bad enough when teams are winning)! What on earth is the thinking behind that...?
