Blackburn v QPR 1-0 FT

Well here we go again! Will it be the Burtonesque side or the Magpie-humblers that turn out? Certainly for us it will be a very difficult team to select....

Here is my guess (on the assumption that Hall is still injured):

Smithies
Perch Onuoha Lynch Bidwell
Wzsolek Manning Luongo Freeman
Washington Mackie

Subs: Goss Smith Furlong Cousins Ingram Petrasso Lualua

I think he will try to stick with trusted players, only dropping Furlong because of Blackburn's physicality, and hope a more attacking selection will compensate for dropping the '3rd' CB.

Hope he starts Smith as I've taken a big gamble on him as first scorer!

Fancy him to keep the same team though. Maybe Manning may drop out as he looked a bit tired on Wednesday.

Unchanged then. I personally thought we looked tired in the second half Vs Newcastle so anticipated a change or two. Holloway knows best, let's hope we can win!

Have to hope he does! :wink
Commentary and blog stating that QPR are threatening a nervous Blackburn BUT we are not pushing forward fast enough and in numbers. The commentators are looking for Wzsolek to play further up and have highlighted that often it is PERCH who is furthest forward from midfield! Need to come out for the second half like they started the first, high tempo and all guns blazing!! :yay

61 mins: Controversy here. Washington gets his head to Furlong's long throw, before the ball bounces off the underside of the crossbar and in. But the goal is not given! [0-0] [Replay shows it WAS a goal...]

62 mins: Mackie OFF/ Smith makes his debut [too late...?]

78 mins: Luongo OFF/ Morrison's second coming....

90+1 mins: As their fans leave in droves (and disgust) Blackburn score! QPR thrown this game away with negative play.

90+3 mins: Furlong off/ Lualua on [Why would we delay play for this?]

We always do crap against bottom teams
We would of been 12 points of relegation now only 6

What a cruel game football is.
WASHINGTON scores not given.
We deserve a point then get stung at the death.

Tend to agree. The substitutions were again too late in the game (especially Lualua in LAST minute) and none included Perch! If you want to produce more positive play then he should have come off for Smith - not Mackie!!

Well we clearly didn't deserve to lose. A harsh result.

Getting the first goal would have massively changed the game.

Big impact on the prediction comp too as a fair few had Washington or 1-1.

Not that surprising that our results are inconsistent at the moment is it? With a new manager who's had to come in mid-season and take over a messy squad things aren't going to be settled for a while. The fact we are scoring again and putting some points on the board now bodes well.

Yesterday's result has put us back in the relegation scrap now
We could of gone 12 points clear of bottom 3 not 6 points like we are now
