If it was based on best rather than most popular I don't think the results would be too much different really. The odd position may change but 'the worst' will always end up the least popular and vice-versa!

That's only true because this is a popular vote. If we could get a neutral to look at the evidence and choose our best manager it would not be the most popular manager on the evidence of this game. It would also be less fun.

Anyway, to get this moving again ...

So after over 210 replies and 2100 views over nearly 2 months Ian Holloway is officially the most popular QPR manager according to QPRNET!

The Silver medal goes to Neil Warnock, Bronze goes to Terry Venables.

Mark Hughes also officially registers as the most unpopular manager in QPR history I think it is safe to say, he didn't even make it onto page 2 of the thread!

Here are the final standings of the 25 QPR managers of the past 40 years:

Some questions to ponder...
Does Harry Redknapp deserve to be in the bottom 6?
Why is he less popular than Jim Magilton or Paulo Sousa for example?
Is Chris Ramsey really in the top 10 most popular managers?
With Houston and Harford both in the bottom 4 does that mean the late 90's was the worst time to be a QPR fan?
Why are they both so much less popular than Ray Wilkins who took us down from the Premier League yet still ranks 11th?

Thanks for taking part everybody!

A good game and an interesting final list. I suspect that Olly & NW benefitted from being quite recent and 'Arry & Hughes were penalised because the pain is still fresh. Mind you, Hughes in particular will never be considered anything other than a disaster in spite of the exciting escape in his first season.

That's what I loved about Ollie and Warnock both showed their passion wherever they managed
Some refs must of dreaded coming to loftus road
I like to see some fire in the belly and egging the players on till the last whistle
Ramsey for all his lack of ability does show he cares and is upset when we lose

So it seems we are about to re-appoint the most popular QPR manager of recent times.

You can see what the board are thinking getting him in, it will be a sell out for his first match and we'll see a lot more passion.

BUT

will it tarnish his memory if he comes in and we can barely win a game? If we were to run this vote again in 12 months or 2/3 years time it will be interesting to see if Holloway is still the fans favourite.

Is it almost a risk for Holloway? Or must he feel he can really make a difference...

i think it shows that QPR are not going to spend any more money this season
olly has obviously told them he can work with what hes got
its a massive gamble for him and for us
Hes far better than hasslebaink and probably been dying for another stab at management
I really hope he can kick our players up the arse and play them in their proper positions
will he still do his work with sky sports he probably will, warnock used to while he was with us
